Lucy Virginia Stultz

Stultz, Lucy Virginia, 86 of Yorktown, VA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 21, 2015 after an 11 year battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.  Lucy was born on March 24, 1928 in Fairmont, WV, and later moved to PA with her family.  She relocated to Newport News, VA in 1969. She was a member of Providence Mennonite Church in Newport News, VA since 1973. After raising her children was a Live-In Caregiver for 20 years. 

She is preceded in death by parents, John L. Haddix and Rotha (Boyles) Haddix; husband, Donald L. Stultz; two children, Raymond and Rotha Custer; Ex-husband and friend, Doc Custer; two grandchildren, Matthew and Nicholas Updegraff; eight siblings and other family members. 

Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren.  She leaves behind five children to cherish memories.  Russell (Sharon) Custer of Windber, PA; Roxanne (Harold) Updegraff of Windber, PA; Robin (Douglas) Serwon of Yorktown, VA; Ranae (Todd) Blanks of Hayes, VA; Rodman (Carie) Delasko of Phoenix, AZ.  She had 12 grandchildren: Jerry, Jennifer, Kerry, William, Matthew (Deceased), Nicholas (Deceased), Zoe, Nathan, Megan, Kayla, Svend, Allistair; 9 great-grandchildren:  Daniel, Laiken, Olivia, David, Gabrielle, Tyler, Brady, Nichole, Abbey.  She also leaves behind an extended family consisting of seven siblings living in PA.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday, at Meek-Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc. Windber, PA, where funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday.  Interment Richland Cemetery, Johnstown, PA. www.meekfuneralhome.com
