William Joseph Patrick

William Joseph Patrick, age 87 of Windber died July 19, 2015 at Windber Hospice.  He was born on September 5, 1927 in Windber son of the now late Peter and Mary (Chalky) Patrick.  He was also preceded in death by brothers John, Thomas, and James.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years the former Violet "Vi" (Seliga) Patrick.  He is the father of Blase, married to the former Heidi Hamilton, Richland Twp., and Dr. Bryan, married to the former Tess Jankowski, Sea Girt, NJ.  He was the loving grandfather to Alexandra, Andrew, Alex, Haley, Kelsey, and Nicolas.

Bill was a Navy veteran of WW II,  member of Windber VFW, American Legion, and a 60+ year member of Polish Falcons.  Also a member of Construction Workers' Local 910 and was a well traveled construction worker.  He was an avid Windber Area High School and UPJ sports fan.  He attended 60 AAABA tournament/championship games.  Member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, where he was a long-time kitchen worker and where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 24, 2015.  Fr. Rod Soha, TOR, pastor presiding.  Committal church mausoleum with military graveside rite by Windber VFW Ritual Team.  The family will received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday  at the funeral home where a vigil service will be held.  Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA  15963 in Bill's memory.
