Florence H. Stossel

STOSSEL, Florence  H., 81, Windber, passed away, February 22, 2017 at Windber Hospice. Born January 6, 1936, in Benscreek, PA, daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Surganik) Tutsock. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry, who passed away February 19, 2017. Preceded in death by siblings, Irene Mastaler, John, and Leonard. Her children are James (Lori) of Pittsburgh, Michael of Schertz, Texas, Susan (Robert) Roxby of Portage, and Lisa Davis of Windber. Her grandchildren are Rhonda Stossel, Scotty Stossel, Jennifer Montelvo, Christopher Stossel, Gregory Stossel, Robert (Amber) Roxby, Lora (Bryan) Rusnak, Amanda Eppley, and Ashley Eppley. She also is survived by 8 great grandchildren (soon to be 9), her twin sister Eleanor Brusko of Portage, Rita Hoberney of Cleveland, Marcella Costantino of Pittsburgh, and Matilda Richardson of Hilton Head, SC. When Mom was healthy, she enjoyed traveling and sharing her experiences with all who would listen. In her travels, she got to visit many places in America and also overseas. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest loves and she enjoyed her visits with them, too. She also enjoyed visiting the occasional casino with Dad and meeting up with all of her family and friends. She was an avid Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy watcher. Her cooking would have won many of awards. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Sunday, Feb 26, at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc. 1312 Graham Ave, Windber. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am Monday, Feb 27, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, Fr. Rod Soha, TOR, Pastor, committal at St. John Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Windber Hospice.
