Mrs. Shaffer, we are sending Sympathy to you and your family. I and my wife both worked with Denny. I worked out of Johnstown and my wife worked in Somerset. Denny bailed me out of a lot of situation with the phone company. We both have a lot of respect for him. Both are saying prayers for you and your family..... God Bless.

Denny and I were Windber Ramblers and were long time friends. Played football, worked at the Windber A&P and at GTE/Verizon for many years. He was very supportive anytime I called the Somerset CO for help. I enjoyed his friendship and am truly sorry. And....Michael played shortstop for us in the GTE softball tournament years ago. And Denny was there to support him!

Denny was always my buddy. He always let me be the boss, even though he was the stronger...and probably the smarter one. He never refused to be on the bottom when we would double-deck sled ride. I taught him how to dance before his first school dance, but when he got home he informed me I had taught him the girl's part...not the guy's. Denny was a Windber Rambler and I was proud of him. He loved to talk about his fly fishing and his family trips to Yellowstone. He would talk and talk and talk and even when the listener's eyes glazed over, Denny would still talk. I will surely miss his voice. I'm eternally grateful that I will get to be in heaven with him. Everyone, please make sure Jesus is your Savior...as Denny did.
