Delano "Del" Wilbur Webb

Webb, Delano Wilbur, “Del,” 83, Johnstown, passed away peacefully on Nov. 16, 2016 at home in hospice care and surrounded by family. Born Apr. 4, 1933 one of 16 children in Ogletown, son of the late Ralph and Ethel (Mock) Webb. Preceded in death by siblings Forest, Ralph, Jr., Allen, Elwood, Gene Ray Webb, Loretta Allison, Louella Martin, Phyllis Rogers, Marie Fleegle, and Darlyn Sciotti. Survived by wife of 61 years former Laurena Whysong. Loving father to Cheryl, wife of David Furgiuele, Hooversville, and Barry Webb and wife Leigh, Largo, Fl. Also survived by grandchildren Michael Furgiuele and wife Richelle (Mele), Johnstown, Matthew Furgiuele, and fiancé Katie Jones, Pittsburgh, Keith Webb,_New Port Richey, FL, Steve Costan, St. Petersburg, and four great-grandchildren. Brother to Melva Yarnell, Evelyn Garmin, Nancy Tomlinson and Dean Webb. Also many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other friends. Delano was a proud veteran of the Korean War. Member of Berkey Church of the Brethren, Windber LOOM, USW, and Pleasantville VFW Post 9219. Retired as welder at Bethlehem Steel car shop. He lived most of his life in Windber and Johnstown. Avid pool player and he played in pool tournaments in Windber and Johnstown area. He also enjoyed playing cards, board games, and watching TV. Del was a wonderful and loving man who will be sadly missed.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc. Windber where service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.  The Rev. Nathan Crissman, officiating.  Interment Ogletown Cemetery with military honors by Windber VFW Ritual Team.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors, 1 Oxford Ctr., 301 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219 in Del’s memory.  (www.meekfuneralhome.com)
