Croyl, Susan R. (Hunter), 62, of Central City, PA, formerly of Windber, passed away May 7, 2023, at Windber ER. Born September 21, 1960, in Windber, daughter of the late, William B. Sr. and Alma M. (Geisel) Hunter. Also preceded in death by her sister-in-law Mary Lou (Frewin) Hunter; grandparents John H. and Vida M. (Shaffer) Geisel and James and Catherine Pearl Hunter; aunts and uncles Marie and Carl Geisel, Frances and Roy Geisel, Audrey and Lester Hunter and Gary Hunter; her faithful canine companions, especially Sammy, Pierre, Fifi, Jasmine, and Hugger. Hunter Jr., married to Romaine Tuft; sister Lorraine (Hunter), wife of Cameron Hissong, Windber, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Susan began her career with a technical diploma from Greater Johnstown Vocational Technical school and worked as a certified medical secretary. She attended Mount Alloysius College and earned an associate degree in nursing and became a board-certified Registered Nurse. She most recently worked in the PCU of Excella Health, Greensburg, PA, and Southwest Regional Florida Medical Center, Ft. Myers, FL caring for open heart and kidney transplant, dialysis, and post cardiac catheter patients; She also worked as an RN in telemetry, oncology, ICU, rehabilitative care, palliative care, charge nurse and as an RNAC supervisor for both day and night shifts. She loved animals and followed the “Ima Survivor Sanctuary,” and mourned their losses with them.  She loved crafting, singing, swimming, fishing, and going to the beach. She was certain D’Arc’s Pizza in Windber was the best pizza ever made. Former member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was active in the church as a Sunday school teacher. Former member of Calvary United Methodist Church, both of Windber. Susan was a faithful believer in Jesus and would sit on her porch and enjoy the sounds of worship coming from the Central City Full Gospel Church. She appreciated how they opened the doors during worship and the sound would carry across the street to her. She felt blessed by the care and support of her neighbor Frank Rapsky and his wife Betty Lou.
