Susan (Shima) Bibby

Bibby, (Shima), Susan, 87, passed away January 29, 2021 at Windber Woods. Born May 26, 1933 in Central City and lived and raised her family in Mine 40. Daughter of Andrew and Susan (Churney) Shima. Preceded in death by parents, step-father Andrew Krishak who loved her as his own, infant son, Dennis James, the love of her life John Markovic, brothers Andrew, John (Mundo), Joseph and Andrew (Rocky), sisters Mary, Ann and Helen. Survived by sons David (Sherry), George (Elaine), John (Christine) and daughter Denise (James) Lehman. Grandchildren Cherie (Adam) Bibby, Kristin (Brett) Miller, Terri (Jason) Claar, Corey Bibby, Tonya (Sean) McCool, Sara (Kevin) Greenwood, Michelle (Scott) Krick, Michael (Teresa) Lehman, Amy Marsh, Aaron Wright. Great grandchildren Zaiden Washington, Adeline, Jocelyn, Waylon Miller, Carter McCool, Amelia Greenwood, Corinne (Ben) Rager, Courtney Claar, McKenzie and Madison Krick, Ashley Borischak, Samantha Heinrich, Miranda Heinrich, great-great grandchildren, Ethyn Crum, Ryleigh and Cody Rager, and by former son in law, Lashaun Washington. Mom was a kind, loving person who made sure her children never did without. Mom had a hard life, her father died before she was born. In addition to school and daily chores she did everything from planting to canning for their truck farm. She had to quit school early to work in the family store. Mom married at 18 and lost her first born at 20. In spite of this Mom focused on the love and joy in her life. She loved music, books, crosswords, playing games with her children and grandchildren and being there for family and friends. Everyone who knew her was blessed and better off. Mom is sitting in Heaven listening to The Three Tenors with a bowl of Brach's candy for us when we arrive. Susan's family would like to thank the kind staff at Windber Woods and Hospice 365 for their outstanding personal care.  No viewing per Susan's request, a memorial service is to be scheduled at a later date to celebrate her life.
