REARICK - Shirley Lucille, 88, Elton peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2023 surrounded by her husband and children at her side.  Born September 3, 1934 in Elderton, PA -she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Edna Orr(Lawton). Also preceded in death infant sister Ann and mother in law Mary Rearick. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother plus great grandma she is survived by her husband Ron Rearick of 71 years; son Randall (wife Jean Mack), son Terry (fiancé Donna Noss) and daughter Melissa (special friend Tim Warshel);  grandchildren, Ashlee (husband Rev. Scott Hoffman) + Kylee and Natalee of Columbia, MD, Joshua (wife Sara Papinchak) + Brycen and Colby of Elton, Abby (wife of Matthew Flanders) + Shane and Chase of Mechanicsburg, PA, Travis(wife Leah Bucci) + Lucy and Rosalee of Ebensburg and Katie (wife of Matthew Kerekes) of Raleigh, NC. who all loved their Ma!  She also had her faithful and beloved morkie puppy Maggie who stayed by her side through it all!   Ron and Shirley moved from Elderton to Latrobe then settled in Elton, PA.  Shirley was a secretary for the Agway in Windber in which Ron and her owned. She was also a housewife and mother/ grandma on the go for her kids and grandkids constantly! Shirley was extremely dedicated to her family, always watching grandkids, attending sporting and school events--was known for her snacks in the bleachers. Ma always had time to be supportive, caring and a cheerleader of her kids and grandkids. Shirley had a smile that lit up the room and was so genuine and always made anyone feel welcome-everyone always commented on how sweet she was! Ma had a knack for her outside flowers always  looking ALIVE--compliments were abundant and so were the hummingbirds which she loved to watch. Ma was known for her baking especially the infamous sugar cookies with licorice mouths--always given to each grandchild for every holiday. Also almost anyone she knew got a box of famous chocolate crunch made at Christmas.  Ma also was always the fair grandma --making a consistent bag at Christmas for each granddaughter.  Ma was also known as Grandma Shopper--annual outlet shopping for holidays or just to go plus yearly a special BTS shopping day for each grandchild. Ma and Pappy went to football games, baseball games, track meets, cheerleading competition and band competitions to see each grandchild faithfully (and her own children as well)-and it could be rain or shine as never missed. Ma was an Elderton cheerleader in her high school years, also meeting her high school sweetheart Ron.   Shirley and Ron also loved to square dance and belonged to the Richland Mall Squares for many years and traveled the USA for dances. They also loved to travel with their friends  to many places, Smith Mountain lake was her "happy place" she always said.  AND anyone that knew Shirley knew her love of George Strait and all of country music, tapping her feet till the very end while listening to country music. Shirley also loved Pinochle and belonged to the same group of ladies for years.  She was also a member  in the past of Windber Jaycees, Red Hats of Richland. Shirley will be deeply missed and forever remembered for memories or impressions she set forth, she was devoted to family and a friend to many.  The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the in-home caregivers and Windber Hospice (especially nurse Danielle) for their caring and compassion to the very end. Family will receive friends Wednesday, April 26th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home of Windber, where her service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 27th with her grandson-in law, Rev.
