Pritt, Sandra J., 75, Windber, passed away Feb. 5, 2020 at home. Born June 6, 1944 in Punxsutawney, PA. Daughter of Robert LeRoy Walls and Mary Eleanor Walls Petrilla. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Robin Lynn Pritt, son Bryan David Pritt, granddaughter Heather Sue Miller and sister Peggy Lynn Walls. Survived by husband John Walter “Walt” Pritt, children Walter (Jan) Pritt, Don (Lisa) Pritt, Susan (Alfred) Incerpi, Bruce Pritt, Judy (Thomas) Opdenhoff, and Wendy (Donald) Miller. 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also special friends Diane Wilson and numerous loving caregivers. 1962 graduate of Windber Area H.S. Sandy dedicated her life to not only serving her family, but strived to do her part in preserving Windber’s residence, stories, and heritage. She served surrounding counties for over 45 years as a public notary. She spent over 20 years as the president of the Eureka Coal Heritage Foundation and was the first female vehicle inspector in Pennsylvania. She was also one of the organizers of Windber Miner’s Memorial Day and was inducted into the Windber Hall of Fame in 2012. Sandy was an original board member responsible for the Coal Heritage Center and Arcadia Theatre. She enjoyed participating in area basket parties and other fundraisers. Sandy was most appreciative and blessed with hundreds of friends, customers and supporters, all of whom she loved dearly. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support over the last few years, especially the staff at Windber Hospice for their guidance and loving care during such a difficult time.
