Samuel Beechan Obituary

Beechan, Samuel G., 70, Windber, passed away June 1, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 5, 1951 in Windber, son of the late Samuel and Rachel E. (Zindash) Beechan. Preceded in death by brothers, Ronald, Joseph and James Beechan. Survived by loving wife, Sandy (Yasko) Beechan, Windber; son, Devon Kondas married to Nicole, Windber; granddaughter whom he called "Sweetie" & "Pumpkin" and she called him "My Sam", Arya Kondas; sisters, Linda Lacasse, Methuen, MA; Elizabeth wife of Edward Preneta, Sulfolk, VA; cousins, John Beechan and Nick Zindash; numerous nieces and nephews; special niece, Emily Geisel; special nephew, James Beechan Jr. married to Angie; sister in laws, Dona Cigich and Krista Geisel; brother in law, Joe Yasko; special friends, Richard Steffish married to Kathy; Eric Dull and other Lockheed Martin friends; Lisa Shaffer; and Willow and John Shaffer who called him "Sammy Cakes". Samuel was a 1970 Graduate of Windber Area High School where he played football. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during Vietnam War, and served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He worked as a Steel Worker for U.S. Steel, Johnstown Specialty Casting and Johnstown Corp., currently employed by Lockheed Martin. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, Windber; also Windber VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, remodeling and working with his hands. He will be remembered as "Sammy Socialite", was a kind and loving person who had many friends. Family will receive friends Friday, June 4th. from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber, where Panachida will be held at 7:30 p.m. Fr. Miles Zdinak. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5th at the funeral home, 1312 Graham Ave. Windber, Rev. Kirk Rowland, officiating.
