Ruth (Lewark) Pinkerton

Mrs. Ruth Pinkerton, age 92 of Windber passed away peacefully on January 28, 2019 at Windber Woods. She was born to the now late John and Margaret (Watkins) Lewark on February 26, 1926 in Windber. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, and sisters Ann Strapple, Janie Scaglione, and Shirley Niovich. Ruth is survived by her brother John Lewark and his wife Mary Ann, sister Margie Moehler, both of Windber, and special Godchildren John P. Lewark, of Johnstown, and Carolyn Turcato, who is now deceased. Ruth was the sister-in-law to John Niovich, and his friend Mary. Ruth's family would like to offer their thanks for the excellent care that Ruth received while at Windber Woods. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Windber. Family and friends are invited to attend a Catholic funeral service for Ruth that will be held on Tuesday  February 5, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Fr. Larry Lacovic will officiate. Interment will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery next to her husband Robert. Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Anthony's Church or AsceraCare in Ruth's memory.
