Roles, Russell J. Jr. (Butch), 77, Strongstown, passed away January 5, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 30, 1946 in Colver, Pa, son of the late Russell J. Sr. and Gladys I. (Alleman) Roles. Preceded in death by brothers, John Roles and Fred Roles. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, Sharon J. (Mardis) Roles; daughters, Connie L. married to Benjamin Ringler Sr.; Carrie S. married to Stephen Mosorjak; and Sherry L. married to James Uber Jr.; grandchildren, Nicole married to Dan Poole; Alexandera Ringler; Gunnar Hockenberry; Haylee Hockenberry; Benjamin Ringler Jr.; Tyler Mosorjak; Gavin Hockenberry; Philomenia Summers and Izabella Bennett; great-grandchild, Lillian Poole; brother, George M. Roles married to Rosemary; and by sisters in law, Adriene Roles and Sharon Roles. Russell graduated from Penns Manor High School in 1965. He worked at Latrobe Plastics, St. Andrew's Village and B&K Construction before retiring in 2014. He also followed in his father's footsteps by working as an electrician and then later Concession Manager at the Cambria Co Fair for over 50 years. Russell was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting & fishing. He also enjoyed bowling and playing poker with his friends. He will always be remembered as that guy who would give the shirt off his back without asking for anything in return. He loved being Pappy and watching his grandchildren play their many sports and activities. Most of all, he enjoyed his last-minute trips with his wife. He will be dearly missed by many close friends and family. At the request of Russell, there will be no viewing, Celebration of Life at a later date.
