Patsy Joseph Obituary

Pani Patsy L. Joseph passed on to the Lord on May 14th. There is a new angel in paradise. She was born on September 21, 1938. She is survived by her husband Fr. Tony Joseph whom she married on August 12, 1961, son Tony R. Joseph married to Mary (Lashley), Kitty Hawk, daughter Tricia L. Honeycutt married to Craig, Nags Head, granddaughter Vera Bay Honeycutt, 5 years old, who called her Maw and was the twinkle in Patsy’s eyes, granddaughter Amber King, a policewoman in North Carolina, sister Joyce Ofsanko married to Mike, Johnstown. She is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents George and Susan Bartko and sister Nancy Hufford and her husband Russel. She was a 1956 graduate of South Fork Croyle High School where she graduated as the top student in the Commercial Department. She was very proud of her straight A report card. She was a strikingly beautiful member of the majorette corps in the high school marching band. She was a secretary for several insurance agencies until she retired to take on the blessed career of motherhood and if there was a report card, she would have again received all A’s and graduate at the top of her class.

She was strong of faith as she served side by side with her husband as he served St. Johns’s Church in Wilpen and St. Stephen’s in Latrobe. She was loved by all the parishioners and she always readily helped in all baking and cooking projects. She made sure her children were dressed properly for church and school. She never missed a baseball game of her son or a track meet of her daughter. She also never missed a junior league game that FR. Tony managed and insisted they attended every opening night of the AAABA tournament, many times falling on their wedding anniversary. She proved how strong she was of faith and body as she survived two cancer surgeries, open heart surgery, and two pacemaker surgeries.

God blessed us with her presence and she will be missed by many. Paradise is a better place because we know that is where she lives now and forever.
