Sekela, Michael Andrew, 52, Columbia, Maryland formerly of Windber, Pennsylvania. Passed away on November 4, 2023 at University of Maryland Medical Center after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born June 22, 1971 in Windber, PA. Michael was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Russell and D. Jane Shaffer; and by paternal grandparents, Andrew Sekela and Dolores Mehok. He is survived by his loving parents, John and Linda (Shaffer) Sekela of Windber; brother, Todd Sekela married to Lori; and niece, Charlotte Sekela. Michael is also survived by daughters, Tori and Kayla. Tori's gift of drawing always amazed him and made him smile. Kayla and Michael developed an extra special bond when she volunteered to be his living donor when he needed a kidney transplant in 2020. Michael was a graduate of Windber Area High School class of 1989 and a 1993 graduate of Saint Francis College. He was an avid sports fan of the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Pittsburgh Panthers and Pittsburgh Penguins. The family will receive friends Friday, November 10th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home of Windber. Funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 514 Shady Lane Windber, PA 15963 with Pastor Doug Knupp, officiating. Interment Rummel Cemetery, Windber, PA.
