ADORE, Mario, 86, Windber, passed away on June 4, 2022. He was born in Windber, Pennsylvania, on June 19, 1935. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Delia (Najjar), his son Michael, his parents Mike and Mary (Runco) Laratonda, his brothers Sam, Dan, Frank, Tony and Charles, and his sister Madeline. He is survived by his special nephew Clark Fisher and niece Emily Fisher and many other nieces and nephews, as well as his special life-long friend Ray Bossi. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. Member St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber. Mario worked for Bestform Foundations in Windber, retiring in 1997. He also volunteered his time generously. He was a member of the Windber Little League for over 50 years, serving as a coach, safety officer, grounds keeper and vice president, and secured numerous state grants to improve the Windber Little League baseball fields, including dugouts, fences and backstops. He was also a Little League baseball umpire for over 40 years, which included umpiring the Junior League World Series in 1991 in Taylor, Michigan, and many state playoff games throughout the years. He was elected for a four-year term as Little League District Administrator for Somerset, Cambria, Blair and Huntingdon counties in 2014. He served as a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association softball umpire for over 25 years. He was a lifetime Member of Somerset County Old Timers Baseball and served on its Board of Directors. He was elected to the Somerset County Old Timers Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010 and the Windber Area Hall of Fame in 2012. He donated over 12 gallons of blood during his lifetime. Visitation will be held from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Monday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber. Fr. Rod Soha, officiating. Interment will be at St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery, Windber.
