Sloan, Marilyn Kay, 81, Windber passed away March 26, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born July 30, 1939 in Windber, daughter of the late Harold and Arlene (Weyant) Manges. Preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Jury. Survived by loving husband of 63 years, John R. Sloan, Windber; son, Robert J. Sloan married to Carol, Windber; grandchildren, Krystal married to Erik Smith, Windber; Justin Sloan, Windber; Julie Sloan and fiancé Matt Ulatsky, North Carolina; and Jesse Sloan, Ohio; great- grandchildren, Anna, Abigail and Audrey Smith; brother, Curt Manges married to Mary Kay, Windber; sisters, Marcie married to Gary Madey, Windber; Kathy married to John Knisely, Alum Bank; Susan married to Jeff Jury, Windber; and Lisa married to Mark Bahorik, Windber. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a faithful member of Rummel Church of the Brethren, Windber where she was a long-time member of the church choir. In her early years, she was employed by Bestform and United Metals. After retirement, she baby-sat her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with kids who brought so much joy to her life. In her free time, Marilyn loved to bake, sew, paint ceramics, crochet, color, and spend time with her family. The family would like to thank Marilyn’s sisters, Windber Hospice, and all of her doctors and nurses for their wonderful care along the way. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 29, at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber. Friends received Tuesday, March 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service at Rummel Church of the Brethren, Rev. Ruby Mader, officiating. Interment Berkey Cemetery.
