Figard, Lydia J., 93, Windber, passed away August 2, 2019 at Windber Woods. Born August 25, 1925 in Paint Twp. Daughter of the late Samuel and Iva (Lumadue) Barrett. Preceded in death by husband, George Leroy Figard; brothers, Aldwin, Edwin and Devere; and by sister, Regina. Survived by loving son, Robert L. Figard and wife Wendy (Liska) of Boswell; grandchildren, Kristin married to Wayne Niel, Johnstown; and Rob married to Anne-Marie (Knowlton) Figard, Pittsboro, NC; great grandchildren, Tyler Kalp and Fiancé Julia Faint; Katie Niel; and Jack Figard; brothers, Charles (Chuck), Windber; Ronald (Ronnie), Radcliff, KY; sisters, Virginia widow of Joseph Sottile, Hagerstown, MD; and Allegra widow of Daniel Gorzelsky, Johnstown; also by numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Member of Scalp Level Church of the Brethren, Windber, where she served on the fellowship committee, taught Sunday school and avid supporter of the Quilting Bee’s. She worked at Bestform of Windber and during World War II helped prepare ammunition for the troops. A favorite past time was listening to her records, gardening and bird watching. She had several special fishing trips to Canada with George and friends that she talked about often. Her greatest joy was camping at their camp along the Juniata River, where they spent many weekends with family and friends. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of her service at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6th, at MEEK & DALLA VALLE FUNERAL HOME INC. 1312 Graham Ave. Windber, Rev. Mark Murchie and Rev.
