Leonard Perkosky

Perkosky, Leonard, 94, Windber, passed away April 24, 2021 at Windber Hospice. Born May 10, 1926 in Detroit, MI, son of the late Frank and Ann (Maluchnik) Perkosky. Preceded in death by wife, Virginia G. "Googie" (Trevorrow) Perkosky; infant son, Leonard Perkosky; sister, Frances Fielding; brothers, Edward, Chester and Frank Perkosky. Survived by loving son, Thomas M. Perkosky; loving daughter, Cynthia A. Hunter, both of Windber; grandchildren, Crystal wife of Peter B. McGinnis III.; Thomas Joseph Perkosky and wife Katrina; Jason L. Hunter and wife Melissa; Christopher M. Perkosky; Ryan L. Perkosky and wife Katelyn; and Cynthia L. Hunter; great grandchildren, Patrick and Abigail McGinnis; Chloe Hunter; Isaiah, Xavier, Benson and August McRae; Shelby Jane Perkosky and Maverick Perkosky; also by numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII, retired cement mason from Local 526, former member of the Windber Polish Falcons, and member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. Special thanks to his lifelong friend Ethel, who only made his favorite dish when it snowed. Special thanks to Windber Home Health and the staff at Windber Hospice for keeping dads dignity. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber, where vigil service will be held. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 28 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, Fr. Rod.
