John A. Waldman, Sr.

John A. Waldman Sr., age 85, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio. John was born on April 22, 1936 in Windber, Pennsylvania to Peter and Mary (Alexander) Waldman. Preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn (Barndollar) Waldman, son, John Waldman Jr. and daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Floyd) Waldman. Survived by children, Matthew Waldman, Columbus, Ohio, Christine Waldman and granddaughter Cozette Waldman Torres, both of Seattle, Washington.  He graduated from Windber High School and University of Pittsburgh. He proudly served his county in the US Air Force. John was a member of American Legion and VFW Post. He was a Longtime high school baseball umpire and a member of Central Ohio Baseball Umpires Association. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Columbus, Ohio and the former St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Windber, PA. Visitation will be held from 10 am to 12:30 pm, Monday January 24, 2022 at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. Fr. Rod Soha, pastor. Interment Richland Cemetery. Military graveside rites by Windber VFW Post 4795 ritual team.
