Hunt, Joann (Couperthwaite), 85, Windber, passed away May 17, 2023 at Windber Hospice. Born July 2, 1937 in Rummel, daughter of the late John F. and Mazie G. (Weyant) Couperthwaite. Preceded in death by husband, Dudley C. Hunt; brothers, Thomas and Jack Couperthwaite; sisters, Verdene F. Holsopple, Betty L. Sombronski and Marian L. Ross; also by nephew, Tim Richards. Survived by loving great-niece, Michelle married to Craig Lonsinger, Richland Township; special friends, Bill Shaw married to Debbie, Cairnbrook; lifelong friend, Janet Weaver, Troy, PA; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Joann was a graduate of Windber Area High School, after graduation she worked as a secretary at the former Windber Trust Company. In 1958 she moved to the Washington D.C. area with her husband who was employed by the Metropolitan Police Department and worked in the legal field for more than 20 years. Joann enjoyed reading and was very interested in world affairs. She also liked to walk and spend time with her beloved Shelties, Fritz and Heidi. At the request of Joann, viewing, service and entombment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home of Windber.
