Janet Louise Statler

Statler, Janet Louise (Smith), 81, Windber, passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born November 18, 1940 in Windber, daughter of the late Glendon H. and Anna L. (Kline) Smith. Preceded in death by husband, Robert "Buzz" Statler; brother, Barry Smith; nephew, Dwayne; and niece Alicia. Survived by loving son, Ken; daughter, Sheree; grandson, Matt and his wife, Erika; great grandsons, Archer and Arik; brother, Dave and his wife Darlene; sister, Marcie; also by numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends. Janet was strong in her faith in God and love of her family. She enjoyed taking care of everyone, family, friends and strangers, but especially being "Grammy" to her two boys. She will be missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing she is with the Lord and her beloved Buzz. Janet was a faithful life member of Rummel Church of the Brethren, Windber, where she served her church in the Choir and volunteered with cooking for events. She was a member of the United Churches of Windber, Hospice choir, volunteer at Windber Hospital, frequently participated in the Rise and Stride Walker's group and an avid bowler in the Windber Seniors league. Family will receive friends from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3rd at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber. Friends received from 10 a.m. until celebration of life service held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4th at the funeral home, Rev. Ruby Mader & Rev. Abby Shaffer, officiating.
