Obituary
Murphy, Jr., James M., "Murph," 68, of Pavia, PA, passed away in the early morning of March 24, 2023 at UPMC Altoona surrounded by his family after his 5-year battle with end-stage renal disease. Jim was born in 1954 in Windber, PA, where his mother worked as a nurse’s aide. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife Linda, children Bridgette, David, Becky, and Dennis, his sister June, 12 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a nephew and niece. He was preceded in death by his mother Cleo, father James, twin brother Timothy, nephew George, and grandchild Cody. He retired from FreightCar America in Johnstown, PA where he worked as a drill press operator. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman from a young age, never hesitating to share his knowledge and experience with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Greenwoods Hunting and Fishing Club in Clearfield, PA, the Elton Sportsman Club in Elton, PA, and the Pleasantville VFW. A memorial service will be held for friends and family at a later date. Arrangements by Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber.
