James R. Cocco

Cocco, James R. (94) of Windber, passed away suddenly May 11, 2022, at 6:00 a.m. He was born on December 20, 1927, in Windber, PA. Preceded in death by parents, Angelo and Bambina (Bucci) Cocco, loving wife Marie (Kingure) Cocco, daughter Christine (Cocco) Calhoun, and brothers George, Dominic, John, Joseph, Nick, and sister Mary. Survived by son, Richard and wife Catherine, and daughter Gina Cocco (Annapolis, MD). Also, granddaughters Sara Calhoun (Lilly, PA), Nicole Cocco (Aurora, CO), and sister, Ann (Cocco) Vosnock as well as numerous nieces and nephews. James proudly built the family house with his own hands in 1960. He was an avid gardener and in his younger years enjoyed jogging and amateur boxing. Retired V.P. and General Manager of Universal Electric Mfg. Company in Johnstown. Retired U.S. Army WWII Veteran. He was a survivor, forever young for his age, and a loving husband and father until the day he left us. Member of VFW, American Legion, and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. At the request of the deceased, there will be a private family viewing.
