Irene Cecilia Grieco

Grieco, Irene Cecilia, "Inky", 89, Windber, entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Windber Woods. Born April 18, 1934 in Windber, daughter of the late Andrew and Julia (Stevens) Vitez. Preceded in death by husband, John Grieco Sr.; son, John Grieco Jr; granddaughter, Angela Becker; brothers, John and Andy Vitez; and sister, Julia Vitez. Survived by loving children, Irene Marie Grieco, Windber; Rick A. Grieco and his fiancé, Tina Wiseman, Belmont; Angela Rose Becker "Dolly" and her fiancé, Frank; and by Andrew M. Grieco married to Paula, all of Windber; grandchildren, Larry Becker; Breann Grieco and Sara Jean Grieco-Flynn married to Ross; great-grandchildren, Robert Becker and McKayla Becker; great-great granddaughter, Paisley; sister, Edith Vitez; also by numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was an amazing, loving and protective mother who always put her children first.  She was the matriarch and strength of our family. She made Holidays so very special and magical.  She was an outstanding cook and was known by her family as the Jumble, Crossword puzzle and scratch off ticket Queen. Her love of all things Elvis shaped our childhood and forever memories of her. Her gentle, loving spirit will forever be a part of our lives.  The words of Elvis have never been truer mom, you truly did it "My Way".  Rest always and forever, in the eternal arms of Jesus and the angels. Irene was a faithful Catholic, life member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Windber. To honor Irene's wishes, there will be no viewing or services.
