Irene M. Dobrowolsky

Dobrowolsky, Irene M., 84, Windber, passed away January 19, 2021 at Windber Hospital. Born July 8, 1936 in Windber, daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Lippon) Mattis. Preceded in death by loving husband, Donald Dobrowolsky; brothers, George, Daniel and Eugene Mattis; and by sister, Mildred Burkett. Survived by loving daughters, Barbara married to Lindsay Mihalko, Windber; Sharon Vorous, Pittsburgh; Dawna married to Jay Botson; and Jennifer married to Jay Schott, all of Ohio; grandchildren, Stephanie married to Jason Jablon, Pittsburgh; Todd Mihalko married to Carolyn, Windber; Josh Mihalko married to Tara, South Fork; Jay Schott, Ohio; Jared Schott and girlfriend Abby, Rhode Island; Megan Vorous, James Vorous and Ryan Botson, all of Ohio; great grandchildren, Macie, Liam, Lyla, Dakota, Zoey, and Tripp; brothers, Andrew Mattis; and Edward Mattis married to Louise; also by numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was married to her beloved husband, Don for 46 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived in Cleveland all of her married life and loved her home in Cleveland. She took great pride in her home and her garden. Her flowers were the envy of the neighborhood. She loved to listen and dance to Polka music in her younger years. She loved animals, especially her dog, Wendy who was with her for 17 years. She was a very faithful and devoted Catholic praying the Rosary daily. Irene made her way back to her hometown of Windber, 12 years ago where she resided at the Quemahoning Towers for all of the last 12 years. She enjoyed the company of her good friend, Woody and many other residents. She loved Bingo and Scratch off tickets and Pizza and Subway. The family would like to thank the nursing staff on 3rd. Floor at Windber Hospital for the excellent care and compassion given to our Mom. Family will receive friends from 12:15 p.m. until time of Funeral mass celebrated 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 25th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, Fr. Rod. Committal All Faith's Chapel & Mausoleum, Richland Township. Arrangements entrusted to Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home of Windber.
