Tallion, Gail A., 78, Windber died October 14, 2023, at home surrounded by her family and sisters. Born 6/8/1945 in Windber, daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Weis) Carolus. Preceded in death by parents, brother Dennis, nephew Paul, father-in-law Joseph Tallion, mother-in-law Mary Sadlon, sisters-in-law Diane Carolus, Peggy Tallion, Carol Tallion, brother-in-law Joseph Tallion, lifelong best friend Gail (Marsh) Bauer, and pet companions Midnite and Curly. Survived by devoted husband of 55 years, Ronald Tallion; daughter Lori, wife of Robert Verostick, Windber; son Ronald J. Tallion, married to Susan Boburchuk, Windber; grandchildren Molly Verostick, fiancee of Luke Crouse, Kerrick, PA, Ian Verostick, and Maggie Verostick, Windber, and Hannah, R.J. and Trey Tallion, Windber. Also survived by siblings Charles, married to the former Pat Melvin, Florida; Linda, wife of Elmer Ellis, Windber; Thomas, Windber. Kathy, wife of Dennis Riley, Grove City; Karen, wife of Mike Petrunak, Windber; and Kimberly, wife of Jay Shearman, Johnstown; brother-in-law John Tallion; sister-in-law Mariann, married to Bill Click and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gail was a loving wife, mother, sister, and devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren. The only being more devoted to Gail than her family was her companion–her dog, Sandy. Before her illness, Gail enjoyed family time, talking for hours on the phone with her sisters, playing solitaire, reading, and camping with her husband, Ron. The family will receive friends and family from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc., Windber, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
