Lucas, Francis A., “Frank,” 79, Salix, passed away April 1, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 24, 1943 in Beaverdale. Son of Arthur and Leona (Henry) Lucas. Preceded in death by parents and brother Virgil. Survived by loving wife of 56 years Barbara A. Lucas and son Dr. Timothy Lucas and wife Tanya (Kissell), Hollidaysburg and daughter Kimberly, wife of Brent Layton, Parker, CO. Grandchildren Lauren Lucas, wife of Andrew Matzik, Kristen Lucas, Sarah Layton and fiancé Christian Whitlatch and Abigail and Jacob Layton. Brother to Pauline Kestermont and Barbara Funk and brother-in-law to Kathy Lucas. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Member Salix Bethel United Methodist Church and Windber Country Club. Frank graduated from Clarion University. He was a retired math teacher at Richland High School. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber. Funeral will be held at 11 am, Wednesday at Salix United Methodist Church. Rev. Don Poole, Pastor. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Beaverdale. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice in memory of Frank.
