BRUMBAUGH, Evelyn May, 87 Windber, Pa died on April 15 2020 in Windber, PA. Born May 1, 1932 in Salix, the youngest of thirteen children of the late Ira and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Rigby) Layman. Evelyn is survived by sons Brian and Carl of Windber, and Keith, Boulder Co, and grandchildren Joshua, Laura, Anna, and Tyler. Preceded in death by husband John F. Brumbaugh Jr., whom she married on January 15, 1955. Also preceded in death by brothers Dean, Earl, Ira Glenn, Harold, Kenneth, Paul, Ralph and Roy and sisters infant Grace Layman, Gladys Layman, Esther Keiper and Ruth Baumgardner. She was a lifetime member of the Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church. Evelyn had many interests including her grandchildren, traveling, rooting for the Steelers, sewing, gardening, and working out at the HealthStyles gym in Windber. She was employed by Windber Public schools both as a cafeteria worker and as a bus driver. She was a caregiver at the Church of the Brethren Home and also worked at Bestform Sewing factory. She will be remembered for her faith, strong work ethic and caring nature. A private funeral service will be held by Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home for the immediate family due to the pandemic. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor to the Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist church are appreciated.
