Eleanor M. Cannoni

CANNONI, Eleanor M., 97, Windber, passed away December 29, 2020 at Windber Woods. Born August 4, 1923 in Nemacolin, Pa, daughter of the late Raymond Reed and Helen (Miller) Murphy. Preceded in death by husband, Virgil Cannoni; son, Jeffrey Cannoni; brother, Joseph Murphy; sister, Mary Willard; and son in law, Roma Altimus. Survived by loving son, Joseph Cannoni married to Lynda (Baranik); loving daughter, Joyce Altimus, all of Windber; grandchildren, Jacquelyn married to Jason McVicker, Boswell; Jaimee married to Samuel Scalia, Windber; Joseph Cannoni married to Alisa (Weber), Navarre, Fla.; Jon Cannoni, Pittsburgh; Brianne, wife of Shane Stantz, Westmont; and Holly, wife of Michael Beacham, Windber; great grandchildren, Adriana and Dominic Cannoni, Andrew and Joshua Scalia, Reid and Eleanor Altimus, Camryn Lees, Karis and Naya Stantz. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Eleanor worked as a beautician in Windber for many years, was the past president and longest active member of the Windber B.P.W., member of the Farm Women's Club and the Republican Club. She assisted with the local Poll's and served as a former Judge of Elections. She held several offices in the PTA and Cancer survivor's. She was a faithful life member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber. She had an infectious laugh and warm smile for everyone she met and was a kind and generous person who will be missed by so many. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber. (Social distancing and CDC guidelines must be followed.) Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am, Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, Fr. Rod Soha, TOR, pastor. Committal Church Mausoleum.
