Dr. Robert J. Swansiger

Swansiger, Dr. Robert J., MD (Doc), 76, Richland Twp, passed away July 26, 2023 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. Born November 4, 1946 in Bridgeport CT. Preceded in death by parents John and Catherine (Wozny) Swansiger and wife Patricia (Lomnicki),  and brother Richard J.  Swansiger.  Survived by these children Stephanie (Earl Box) Johnstown, Jennifer (Marc Vickroy) Wilmington, DE, Robert D. Swansiger Harrisburg, PA, and Lisa Deitman Coal Township, PA. Grandchildren Jonathan and Ethan Box and Kylie Vickroy.  Sister Jean Cayer, Shelton, CT, and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Windber. Graduate of Fairfield University and University of Pittsburgh Medical School.  Proud Army Veteran.  Family practitioner with Medical Group of Windber until his retirement in 2014.  Dedicated husband, father and grandfather who loved to travel, attend sporting events, and fishing while picnicking with friends and family at Indian Lake.  Accomplished accordion player during his childhood years.  Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, August 1st from 11 am until time of funeral service at 2 pm at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber. Msgr. Balta. Entombment Richland Cemetery. Military graveside rites by Windber VFW Post 4795 ritual team. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 803 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Dr. Swansiger.
