Dennis Kick Obituary

Dennis Kick, affectionately known as Denny, died on February 18, 2024 in Windber, Pennsylvania at the age of 81.  He was born on July 15, 1942 to John and Virginia Kick in Wilmore, Pennsylvania.  Sadly, he was predeceased by his son Michael Kick and his stepson Lane Edwards, and also sister-in-law Yvonne Kick, his nephew Davey Kick and niece Angel Kick.

Denny dedicated 35 years of his life working for Armco Steel in Baltimore, Maryland.  Upon retiring, Denny and his wife Helen decided to make a move to the Florida Keys.  Here they had a boat on the water near their home which they took out for fishing, crabbing, and fishing derbies.   During this time, he pursued higher education by attending school and was licensed in HVAC and electrical mechanics.  Eventually, they settled in Windber, Pennsylvania which became their beloved home.  Here he could enjoy Pennsylvania hunting which he loved, and be close to his family.   Denny was a very friendly “people person” who loved to lend a helping hand wherever he could.  He purchased a corvette, and he and Helen became members of the Corvette Club where they made many new friends.    Additionally, he took great pleasure in watching old westerns on TV, indulging in his favorite desserts, and tinkering around in his garage.  Most of all Denny took immense pride in his children and grandchildren.  He loved sharing stories about their accomplishments and successes.

Denny leaves behind his loving wife of 25 years, Helen.  He is also survived by his late son Michael’s wife Donna Kick, and their children, Helene and her son Jeffrey and Michael (Stormy).  Furthermore, his surviving sons Jeffrey Kick (Kyle Conway), and Donald Kick (Tiffany) and their children, Holly Rodriguez (Alex), Connor, Chris, and Lilly.  Additionally, Denny is survived by his stepdaughter Debbie Merced and her five children.  Brother Jim (Janet) and their children and grandchildren.   Brother David Kick, and his children and grandchildren.   Sister, Sharon Handel (David) and children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Sunday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber and from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Windber. Pastor Doug Knupp, officiating. Interment Pringle Hill Cemetery, Wilmore, PA.
