Custer, David, Jack, 80, Windber, entered into eternal rest on February 9th 2024 at Windber Hospice. Born August 28th 1943 in Johnstown, son of the late Ernest David and Fern (Wilson) Custer. Preceded in death by loving wife, Judith Mae (Moore) Custer, who passed away March 30th 2016; and by precious daughter, Sheri Napora. Survived by loving children, Christine, married to James Koshute, Johnstown, David Mark and fiancé, Dawn Yost, and Brian married to Melissa all of Windber; son in law, Steve Napora; grandchildren, Christopher Roth married to Danielle; Aaron Roth, Tyler and Dylan Napora, Evan and Lindsey Custer; sister, Jane married to Kenneth Skone, Central City; also by numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was a dedicated auto mechanic for Sears Automotive in Richland Township retiring after 36 years of service, also working part time for B & P Auto Parts in Windber. He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam war. Jack was a faithful member of Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church, Windber. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping but most recently sitting on his front porch waving to friends that passed by. The family will receive friends at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home of Windber, Monday, February 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. VFW service by Windber VFW and celebration of life service to begin 6:00 p.m. Rev. Joe Brown, officiating. Private burial at Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Windber Hospice in his memory.
