Carol grew up and lived most of her life in Shade Township. As a young girl she excelled in dance, baton twirling, & acrobatics. She and her late brother Bernard competed and won many area talent shows and competitions.  Her talents were recognized early when as a young school girl she was asked to twirl baton for Shade High School. She also loved teaching others in various marching groups including The Green Berets, The Patriotettes, and the High School majorettes.  In her later years she dusted off her tap shoes and enjoyed performing with the seniors at the Windber Senior Center.  Dancing was certainly her passion throughout her life. She was also a Nurse’s Aid at the Windber Hospital and Arbutus Park Manor and a Teacher’s Aid at Shade Elementary School. She looked forward to attending and cheered loudly at all her granddaughter’s sporting events. Carol was a member of the Central City United Methodist Church for many years before transferring to the Windber Calvary United Methodist Church. And she loved singing in the choir.  She was a Life member of the Central City VFW Ladies Auxiliary & loved selling poppies every year.
