Anthony Patrick Turcato

Turcato, Anthony Patrick, 72, of Windber, passed away at home on Saturday, May 16th, after a long battle with cirrhosis. Born January 3, 1948 son of Pompelio and Lillian (Chontas) Turcato. Preceded in death by his father. Survived by his wife, Karen (Wright) Turcato, his two sons, Nicholas and Mark; his mother Lillian and his brother, Robert. He was a graduate of Windber Area High School and West Virginia University. He devoted his life to his community, working for 42 years at the Windber Medical Center as a microbiologist and for a few years as a grounds keeper. He served on the Windber Borough Council for 27 years. His passions were horticulture, gardening, landscaping, deer hunting and fishing. He thanks Windber hospice staff for their excellent care making his last few weeks meaningful. He was a member of Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church, where a private service will be held.
