Angeline Pieraccini, 94, Windber, was called to eternal life to be with her husband Mario on Saturday, April 15 at Windber Woods after a brief illness.
She was born in Windber, the daughter of the late Charles and Madge Marino. She is survived by her loving daughter Barbara Havrilla and husband John of Portage; a granddaughter Angela Law; a grandson J. Michael Havrilla and wife Kathryn; a great grandson Jacob Law; a great granddaughter Grace Havrilla; and her brother Charles Marino and wife Peggy.
Angeline married Mario Pieraccini on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1996, just months prior to their 50th wedding anniversary.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters Betty Terlingo and husband Louis and Shirley Statler and husband Bruce. Angeline was a 1945 graduate of Windber Area High School and Cambria Rowe business College. She worked at numerous jobs during her lifetime. She helped out in the family's Italian grocery store. When the store closed, she worked as a cashier at Riverside Market in Richland. She also worked as a bank teller at several local banks and as an insurance correspondent for Met Life. Angeline was an excellent cook and baker and kept a spotless home. She enjoyed making her grandchildren's birthday cakes until she reached the age of 87 and then passed the torch onto her granddaughter Angela. Family was of utmost importance to her and she loved her grandchildren who called her Grammy Angie. She had a big heart and was very generous to her family and others. Early in their marriage Mario and Angeline enjoyed dancing at the Abruzzi Hall in Windber with their friends Katie and Regis and Mary and George. Mom said they're waiting for her in heaven so they can all dance together again. With advancing age and health issues, she recently had said that she was in God's waiting room. The family wishes to thank the Windber Hospital ER, 9 Ashman at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Windber Woods, Dr. Hoffman, and Asera Care Hospice for their compassionate care and for keeping Mom comfortable during the last week of her life. Family will receive friends Wednesday, April 19th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home of Windber, where vigil service will be held. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20th at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, Fr. Rod. Committal with Deacon Joseph R. Dalla Valle at Allegheny Cemetery Mausoleum. Contributions in her memory can be made to St. Anthony's Church, 2201 Graham Avenue, Windber, PA 15963 or Catholic Charities, 321 Main Street #5G, Johnstown, PA 15901. www.meekfuneralhome.com.
