Andrew George Kranyc

Andrew George Kranyc, Jr., 68, Windber, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2021. Born Aug. 13, 1952 in Windber. Son of the late Andrew George, Sr., and Gilda (Verna) Kranyc. Survived by sister Cindy M. Kranyc, with whom he resided and also numerous cousins. Andrew was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber. 1970 graduate of Windber Area High School, 1974 graduate of UPJ, where he received his bachelor’s degree in social studies. He taught social studies at Rockwood High School and then later at St. Clements grade school. Andrew entered the seminary in 1980. He graduated from the Catholic University, Washington D.C., with a bachelor’s degree in Theology. He retired after spending 21 years in the diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, WVA. Andrew enjoyed the outdoors, making rosaries and reading. Friends will be received from 11am to 12:30 pm, Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Windber.
