Allen R. Karla

Karla, Allen R., 77, Salix, went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2018. Born April 8, 1941 in Jennerstown. Son of the late Robert and Helen (Gelesky) Karla. Survived by loving wife of over 51 years Marilyn A. (Fuge) and these children Debra A. Karla and fiance Alan Houck, Mechanicsburg, Kimberly M., wife Larry Black, Jr., Wilson, NC, Dr. Mark A. Karla and wife Alison, Denver, CO. Granddaughters Anna Black and Isabelle “Izzy” Karla. Also sister Helen wife of Richard Casey, Johnstown. Allen served in the US Navy from 1961 to 1965 on USS Valley Forge stationed in Long Beach, Calif. Member Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Johnstown. Retired steel worker for 33 years at Bethlehem Steel. An avid Pittsburgh Steeler, Penguin’s and Pirate’s fan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, bible study, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. Allen’s family would like to thank Dr. Rashid Awan and staff for their compassion and care. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber and from 10 until time of service at 11 am, Thursday at Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Johnstown.
