Ishman, William I., “Bill,” 81, Windber, passed away July 31, 2018 at Windber Hospice. Born July 1, 1937 in Windber. Son of Irvin W. and Alice (Miller) Ishman. Preceded in death by parents, wife Magdalene, son Stephen and sisters Lois Statler and Barbara Hackett. Survived by sons Brian, and wife Connie (Hutchison), Windber and Timothy, and wife Rosetta (Scacchitti), Beaver Falls. Grandchildren Brian K., Alexandra, and Angela Ishman. Great-grandson Sonny Pearce. Brother Ronald, and wife Catherine, Sykesville, MD and John, Clearwater, Fla. Also fiance’ Sandra DiGiulio, Windber. Graduate of Windber Area High School, class of 1956. Member, usher, and served on the board of directors at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Windber. Navy veteran, where he served for 6 years on the Thaddius Parker David Edward 369. He was a Somerset County detective. Route salesman for Schmidt Baking Co. Owner of Parnell-Hutchison insurance agency. Past president of Windber Vol. Fire Co.  Member of Windber Lions Club, Jaycees, Argument Club, Slovak Club and Polish Falcon. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 pm Thursday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., 1312 Graham Ave.,Windber, PA, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Friday at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Windber. Fr. Rod Soha, TOR, pastor. Committal church cemetery. Military graveside rites by Windber VFW Post 4795 ritual team. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice or Windber Vol. Fire Company in memory of Bill. www.meekfuneralhome.com.
