Richard W. Suckenik

Richard W. (Rich) Suckenik, 80, from Windber went to be with his Lord on September 9, 2017, surrounded by family.  Born October 24, 1936 in Acme, PA. Preceded in death by parents Jacob and Viola (Michalczyk) Suckenik of Mt. Pleasant, PA and sister Joanne Korzen of Stafford, VA.  Survived by loving wife of 59 years, Delphine (Markiewicz) of Windber and the following children Anita Barkley of Johnstown, Tim (Joyce Bovino) of Johnstown, Joni Hoffman (Jay) of Central City, Mary Ann Null (Harold) of Windber, Tracy Greenwell (Kevin) of Huntingtown, MD and Carolyn (Mimi) Bidelman (Todd) of Manheim, PA, grandchildren Lindsay Hoffman, Stephen (Kate Beach) Suckenik, Michael Suckenik, Ondrea Null, Helena and Jacob Bidelman, Koy, Lillian and Gy Greenwell and great-grandchilden Shawn and Elizabeth Suckenik.  Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard retired from Penelec Conemaugh Generating Station and loved racing, fishing, watching the Steelers and polkas.  He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. The Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 pm Tuesday at  Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. Fr. Rod Soha, TOR, Pastor. Committal All Faiths Chapel and Mausoleum, Windber. Special thanks to the staff at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital’s ICU for their kindness and compassion during his illness. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Richard’s name to a charity of your choice.
