BARNDT---Ralph Lee Jr., 80, Windber, died May 3, 2018, at home. Born July 9, 1937, in Windber, son of Ralph Lee Sr. and Barbara (Hajnos) Barndt. Preceded in death by parents; step-mother, Rita (Yingling) and infant brother, William. Survived by wife, former Patricia E. Sale, whom he married July 15, 1961; son, Brett, and daughter, Kelly Dee, both of New York City; daughter, Tracy Lee Earp and fiancé, Richard Beach, and granddaughter, Jessica D. Earp, all of Woodsboro, MD. Also survived by brother, Robert A. Barndt and wife, Jane, Johnstown; nephew, Steven Barndt and wife, Donette, Omaha, Neb.; numerous cousins and many good friends. Ralph was a 1956 graduate of Windber High School. He was a US Navy veteran and served aboard the USS Newport News. He toured the Mediterranean during his active duty years. He and Pat once attended a USS Newport News reunion which they enjoyed. Ralph worked as an electrician at Bethlehem Steel for 30 years. He was a life member of Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a Pennsylvania State Horseshoe Champion. He was a member of the National Horseshoe Pitcher’s Association, American Legion Post #282, NRA and Polish Falcons Nest #97. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, auctions and antiquing. He was an avid Ebayer and until recently, he enjoyed drinking coffee on a daily basis at both the Windber and Richland McDonald’s restaurants. Ralph was loved very much by his family and he will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, and again from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church, Horn Road, Windber, with Rev.
