Mae K. Holsinger

Mrs. Mae K. Holsinger, 92, Windber, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 9, 2017. Born Jun. 14, 1925 in Bedford. Daughter of Paul and Hester (Dibert) Koontz. Preceded in death by parents, husband George W. "Bill", infant daughter Ella Mae, and brothers Willard and Fred Koontz. Survived by these children Alan married to Joyce (Martin), New Paris, PA, Carolyn, wife of Alfred Ochoa, Manheim, PA, Nancy, wife of Edwin Ott, and Susan, wife of Michael Ulatsky, both of Windber. Grandchildren Rebecca Hyde, Benjamin Holsinger, Apryl Daugherty, Daniel, David, and Jeffrey Ochoa, Jason and Randy Ott, Sarah Gall, Amanda Dolan, Matthew Ulatsky, and Jennifer Anjos. Great-grandchildren Revan Hyde, Sydney and Jaxson Daugherty, Chloe, Sofia, and Millie Ochoa, Hannah, Kylee, and Ryker Ott, Emma, Asher, and Owen Dolan. Sisters Mabel Koontz and Pearl Statler, both of Bedford. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Mae graduated from Windber Hospital School of Nursing and worked at Windber Hospital during her career. She loved her family and was a faithful member of the Windber Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and telling stories of her childhood on the farm. Throughout her life, Mae showed extraordinary courage and strength. She will be missed dearly by her family, who will continue to have Sunday dinner after church in her memory. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, and from 10 until time of service at 11 am Thursday at Windber Church of the Brethren.
