Leland B. West

West, Leland B., 70, Boswell, passed in his sleep while hugging his wife on Sept. 16, 2017. Born Jan. 23, 1947 in Boswell. Preceded in death by parents George & Mabel Shirley (Hyder-Fenton) West & 10 siblings; Survived by loving wife of 46 years Alice (Shank) West, brother Douglas West; & children: Joni & Phillip Fetterman, Janis & Jim Stotler; Jarod West & Megan Lintz, Julia & Jeremy Tannehill, Jaclyn & Charles Stuard III, Jenson & Tiffany West; & (8) grandchildren Johnathan, Candace (Kae), Christopher, Abigail, Brody, Allycen, Ember & Baby Stuard, numerous nieces, nephews & in-laws. Graduated Jenner-Boswell (diploma) & UPJ (BA,Liberal Arts). Leland was a Vietnam Veteran. Also worked at Miller Picking, Bethlehem Steel, & was a retired control room technician WJAC (37 yrs). We lost a friend, comedian, vocalist, musician, guitarist, music lover, gaming guru, karaoke performer, dreamer, writer, & an inspiration with a beautiful mind. We will miss him each day, & he will live on in the music & our hearts. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where funeral will be held at 11 am Friday. Pastor Heidi Helsel officiating.  Interment at Walker Cemetery, Shanksville, PA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to his wife Alice, 430 Main St., Boswell, PA 15531.
