Suto, Joseph C., 95, Windber, passed away Nov. 2, 2018 at home. Born May 18, 1923 in Windber. Son of John and Anna Suto. Preceded in death by parents, 1st wife Genevieve Richardson, 2nd wife Twila Britton, son Joseph Jr., grandson Christopher Mishko and siblings Ann Kimmell (Clyde) and Eugene (Barbara). Survived by children JoAnn, wife of Pete Mishko, Gene, and wife Kathy (Schiffhauer), and John and wife Kathy (Novotny) all of Windber. Grandchildren Joey (Kristy), Melissa (Bob), Arrika (Calvin), Jesse (Nicole) and John, Jr. Great grandchildren Brittany, Dominick, Adriana, Penelope, Ryder and Kennedy. Step-daughter Sherry and step-grandson Shaun (Paris) and Tyler. Special nieces and nephews Bobby Gene (Thomas), Lori (John), Patty, JJ (Nicole) and John. Joe was the owner and operator A.J. Confer Co. and the Windber Hotel. As a violinist and vocalist, Joe was band leader of Joey Baker and the Riders of the Range and the Four Jays. Army veteran WWII, where he was staff sergeant in the Pacific Theater. Joe loved his cottages at Raystown and Indian Lake and taught dozens of people to water ski. The family would like to thank Joe’s caretakers Paris, Judy and Dawn. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Music Department at Windber Area High School in memory of Joe.
