Helen M. Schokora

Schokora, Helen M., 99, Windber died Oct. 13, 2019 at Windber Woods. Born June 28, 1920 in Rosemont WVA  daughter of the now late Daniel and Helen (Puskas) Szente. Also preceded in death by husband John, son-in-law Dennis Shaffer, and five siblings. Survived by daughter Elaine Shaffer, Windber, and Janet Deitke, Washington, DC. Loving grandmother to Timothy Shaffer, Winter Garden, FL, and Janice, wife of Dr. John Mucciola, Windber. Also survived by great grandchildren Nicholas and Lauren, the loves of her life, and several nieces and nephews. Helen was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be missed by all. Member of St. Anthony’s Church, Windber. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Windber Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winder Hospice in Helen’s memory. The family would also like to thank the staff at Windber Woods for their loving care. The family will receive friends from 11:30 until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Inc., where Catholic funeral service will be held.
