Gilda M. Kranyc

Kranyc, Gilda M., 89, Windber, passed away Sept. 10, 2018. Born Dec. 17, 1928 in Windber. Daughter of Louis and Mary Verna. Preceded in death by parents, husband Andrew, Sr., sisters Thressa DiGiulio, Annie Verna and Jean Patton. Survived by son Andrew Kranyc, Jr. and daughter Cynthia Kranyc, both of Windber. Brother Anthony Verna, Lanham, MD, sister-in-law Alice Rossi, Lionville, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, where she taught CCD and RCIA. Also she was a  member of the Secular Franciscan Order and Mercy Associate. She was a devoted benefactor of the Carmelite Monastery in Loretto. The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 pm Wednesday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber. Fr. Rod Soha, TOR, pastor. Committal church cemetery.
