Gertrude T. (Jones) Weaver

Weaver, Mrs. Gertrude T., “Gertie”, 97, Windber “our special angel got her wings and went home to be with the Lord” on Jan. 4, 2019. Born Mar. 29, 1921 in Paint Twp., daughter of the late Joseph and Amanda (Berkey) Jones. Also preceded in death by husband Ross and these brothers and sisters; Minter, Berkey, Mervin, Joseph, Kermit, Richard, infant brother, Ruby, and Hope. Loving mother to Barbara Fulton, Ebensburg, Rhonda (Ronald) Berkey, Deborah (Michael) Scallion, Larry (Louise Crisi), and Margie (Willie) Wagner, all of Windber. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Gertie was an avid quilter, duckpin bowler, and Scrabble player. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, camping and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Member of Windber Church of the Brethren where service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor Joe Brown, officiating. Private interment at Berkey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice in Gertie’s memory.
