She married at the age of 22 ; raised a family and worked with her husband at Palumbo's Beverage. As a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church, she had a ministry taking sermons on cassette tape to home bound parishioners and residents of the Church of the Brethren Home, where she herself would spend her last years. She supplied comfort with food and kind words to family and friends. Like many of her generation, Ethel was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and loyal friend. Ethel's work and achievements were not those that gained this world's attention. However, we are confident that her deeds were duly noted in the heavenly realm. You ran the race well, Mom. "Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised." The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where funeral will be held at 11 am Friday. Pastor Ruth Jensen officiating. Interment Richland Cemetery. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Windber Woods for the excellent care and love given to Ethel. www.meekfuneralhome.com
