Eloise J. (Shank) Miller, age 72 of Lake Wales, formerly of Windber died June 18, 2019 at Osceola Regional Medical Center, Kissimmee, FL after a brief illness. Born July 1, 1946 in Windber daughter of the now late John E. and Pearl (Wentz) Shank. Preceded in death by husband Richard "Dick" Miller in 2007 and grand daughter, Monja LaRae Sanders in 1990 and brother George. Survived by daughter, Renae Porter (Jeff), Winter Haven, son, Terry Miller, Lake Wales, son, Shawn Miller ( Lisa), Johnstown. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sister of Shirley Fleck, Hertford, NC, Bob Shank, Windber, and Alice West, Boswell. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Eloise worked numerous jobs. She was the supervisor at the previous Rosemary House in Scalp Level where she utilized her degree in child psychology and changed many young girls lives. She and Dick owned and operated "Special Occasions" in Windber for quite a few years. She was active in the Ladies Eagles Auxillary before moving to Florida in 1997 where she jumped right into the storage business and was the property manager of several companies before retiring from StoreRight in Winter Haven, Florida in 2016.
Eloise was a very loving, caring, charismatic, inspiring, strong woman. Those who knew her enjoyed being around her fun personality. The love of her family was everything to her.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Valerie Conrad-Dembinsky officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery, Shanksville, PA.
