Robert "Bob" Felix

FELIX, Robert E., 90, Windber, passed away Dec. 12, 2018 at home. Born Oct. 8, 1928 in Windber. Son of Lloyd and Alma (Hobart) Felix. Preceded in death by parents and siblings Margaret Yost-Lee, Catherine Helman, John Felix, Jane McNeal and James Felix. Survived by loving wife of 66 years Joanne (Torquato) and these children Kathleen, wife of Richard Domonkos, Ebensburg, Mary Anne, wife of William Garland, VA Beach, Michael R. Felix and wife Patricia (Fluder), Williamsport, MD and Joseph Felix, Windber. Grandchildren Sarah, wife of Paul McClellan, Maribeth, wife of Shawn Dorsch, Daniel Domonkos, Jennifer, wife of Travis Brown, William Garland and Jeanna Joanne, wife of Parker Bateson. Great-grandchildren Rachel, Rosalie and Victoria McClellan, Alexander and Nathaniel Dorsch, and Grady, Julia and Westin Brown. Also brothers-in-law Jack (Liz) and Tom (Nora) Torquato and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber, where he sang in the choir, helped at the festivals and fish frys. He previously was a member of the former Holy Child Catholic Church, Windber, where he sang in the choir, was a lector and was active in the Holy Name Society. He was a volunteer driver for the Koot Kart and a volunteer for the United Churches of Windber and the former Church of the Brethren Home, Windber. Member of the Windber Hall of Fame Committee. He enjoyed duckpin bowling, hunting, gardening and traveling the “scenic” route. Formerly employed as a warehouse manager at Quaker Sales, Johnstown and then as a Clerk/Carrier for the United States Postal Service in Windber. He was an Army veteran, where he served in the occupational forces in Italy. Special thanks to Windber Hospice and especially Skip Wagner, Sr. for his many trips to Pittsburgh in the Koot Kart and to niece Jeanne and husband John Kolson for their constant support. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 pm Sunday at Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where vigil for Robert will be held. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am Monday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Windber. Fr. Rod Soha, TOR pastor. Committal St. Anthony of Padua Mausoleum, Windber. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, PA 15963.
