Ruth Ann (Surkosky) Lees

Lees, Ruth Ann, 83, Windber, passed Feb. 28, 2024 at Windber Woods. Born Nov. 3, 1940 in Windber. Daughter of Joseph and Martha (Weaver) Surkosky. Preceded in death by parents, son Jason and siblings Robert, Donald, Richard and Mary Faye Surkosky. Survived by husband Richard E. Lees, Sr., and these children Richard “Rick,” E. Lees, Jr., and fiance Hope Hayes, Twin Falls, ID, Kimberly, wife of Bill Minahan, Windber and Matthew Lees and fiance Destiny McCoy, Windber.  Grandchildren, Camryn Lees, William and Andrew Minahan, Mikayla Hayes, Julia, John and Luke Woodley. Surviving Siblings Betty (Bill) Plummer and Sherry (Jeff) Berkey and numerous loved nieces, nephews and their families. Also special friends, Dave Worst family. Ruth was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.  She loved making family meals, time around the kitchen table, watching sports and most of all her grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:30 am until time of memorial service at 11 am, Monday at Calvary United Methodist Church, Windber. Pastor Erica Wellner, officiating. Inurnment Berkey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center as a thanks for the 17 extra years we had with Ruth between her first cancer diagnosis and this one that took her home to God.
